The Discipline
Scandinavian Studies is an interdisciplinary field that explores the history and culture of the Nordic region and its many contributions to literature, music, film, design, social and political philosophy, and many other areas as well. Scandinavia has become a go to region to learn more about innovative green technologies, sustainability projects, gender equality, trust studies, and progressive social programs that are the envy of the world. And with all of the Nordic countries located in the top 10 of the world’s happiest countries, Scandinavia has a lot to offer in terms of academic study and interest.
Career Opportunities
The Scandinavian Studies minor supplements a student's major and enhances their professional viability by exposing students to one of the world's exciting and innovative regions. Students will be well-prepared for graduate and professional schooling as well as careers in almost any field through the development of critical and analytical thinking skills, writing skills, as well as research skills and literacy.
