Course Description
Examine the origins of the Latin American revolutions for independence, the course of the wars, and the struggles to form new nations. The course considers the issues new nations confronted and the concepts of cultural continuity, including ramifications today.

Historical knowledge of the Age of Revolution
Learning Outcome
Students will obtain historical knowledge of the Age of Revolution in general, and of Latin American revolutions in particular.

Students will be able to read and understand both primary and secondary historical sources, and how those sources have been used in Age of Revolution historiography, and to be able to express that understanding in writing.
