Title
Research Design
Learning Outcome
Identify the population and parameters of interest in a research study, and explain their relevance to the research question.
Title
Data Collection
Learning Outcome
Evaluate the validity of data collection methods used in observational studies and experiments.
Title
Data Visualization
Learning Outcome
Create effective and appropriate visual and numerical summaries of datasets.
Title
Modeling and Analysis
Learning Outcome
Carry out the following analyses and interpret the results in the context of the research study: 1) Hypothesis testing and confidence intervals for a single mean, a single proportion, the difference between two means, and the difference between two proportions; 2) ANOVA for comparing multiple means; 3) Chi-square test of independence; 4) Simple and multiple linear regression.
Title
Computing
Learning Outcome
Use basic statistical computer applications to carry out each of the above analyses.
